Education Licensing Options
Single User License
Multi-User License
The following applies for a single user license:
- A single user license is registered to one specific user, and is not intended for multiple users on one machine or for network or computer laboratory installation. A single user license may not be shared by different users.
- A single user license may be installed on a primary campus desktop and a secondary laptop or home machine as long as usage is only by the registered user.
- We request the name and department name of the actual software user for single user license orders.
- One set of manuals is included with each single user license.
- The terms of Econometric Software’s End-User License Agreement apply.
Education Multi-User Site License
Site licenses are available for multiple users at a single building location. We license a group of users, rather than an entire university. Site license prices are based on the scope of use and the number of licensed users or installations. The licensed group includes the actual software users. A computing lab or an administrative, computing, systems or IT department cannot hold the license. A site license is for on-site use at one building location.
Categories of Multi-User License
- Single Department: A single department represents one area of research and study. The term department may have different meanings at different universities. Regardless of the terminology, if the department contains multiple areas such as divisions, units, institutes, programs, etc., it is not considered a single department.
- University Faculty, School or College: This license is for a faculty, school or college within a university.
- Center or Institute: This license is for a center or institute within a university or college.
If you need a broader scope license, please contact us to discuss a special license arrangement for your university.
Installation Options
There are two installation options, stand alone installations or network installation.
- Stand Alone Desktop Installation: LIMDEP or NLOGIT may be installed on the specified number of on-site desktops, at a single building location, for use by members of the licensed site.
- Network Installation: LIMDEP or NLOGIT may be installed on one network for on-site use, at a single building location, for access by the specified number of licensed users.
